Day 1: We will embark on our three-day Georgian immersion experience from Tiblisi in the morning, heading to Kartli. Our first stop of the day will be at the breathtaking Jvari Monestary, before heading over to Riravo brandy distillery where we’ll enjoy a lunch and tasting. Next up is an afternoon visit to Qveri wine producer Atenuri, Ateni Sionito try wine from the world’s most ancient vessel for wine storage and processing. Later on we’ll visit Iago for the ultimate Georgian experience including a winery tour, wine tasting and cooking demonstration followed by a spectacular dinner. In the evening we will continue on to Kakheti where we’ll spend the night at Chateau Mere.

Day 2: We’ll start our day with a visit to the Alaverdi Monastery, where monks make their own wine, and next we’ll make a stop at the Matsoni House for fondue and wine. Then we’ll have the special opportunity to visit a Qvevri maker and learn how this most important and ancient wine vessel is crafted.

After visiting our second monastery of the day, the medieval Ikalto with its medieval wine academy, we’ll carry on to the ancient city of Telavi to meet a local cheese maker and learn some traditional production techniques as well as sample fresh products. We’ll finish off the day at the Khareba tunnel, to have dinner and partake in vintage activities like making puri, and we’ll try some Churchkela. In the evening we’ll return to our accommodations at the Chateau Mere for some leisure time before a restful night.

Day 3: Our last day will start off with a visit to a family owned Qvevri winery, and then the Shumi winery for a tasting and the chance to see its fascinating wine history museum and extensive vine library. When we’re finished there we’ll move on to Signagi for another winery visit and an incredible local dinner at Pheasant’s Tears with authentic traditional song and dance performances. We’ll spend our last overnight at the Kabadoni-Hotel.
